Glacier Peaks StarLink Cable Heritage Center    Blackfeet Coins Oki Communications Siyeh Home Oki Communications opens for business with logo contest           BACK Glacier Reporter, July 27, 2006 Siyeh Corporation, the economic development arm of the Blackfeet Nation, and CommunityTel Inc., through its subsidiary, Ronan Telephone Company (RTC), have created a partnership to provide telecommunications and internet services to the residents, institutions and businesses of the Blackfeet Indian Reservation. Siyeh Corporation has the controlling interest in Oki Communications LLC, which shall initially offer wireless high-speed data and Internet services in the Browning area. The long-term goal of the partnership is to build a self-sustaining, independent, community based telecommunications utility to serve all of Blackfeet Country. This new service option is provided by the Blackfeet Tribe and is radio-based which makes use of a license that was purchased in a Federal Communications Commission (FCC) wireless spectrum auction in September 2002. In recently forming Oki Communications LLC, Siyeh Corporation is having a logo contest in which all interested parties may submit an entry, except for employees of Siyeh Corporation. The logo must be a fair representation of Oki Communications and be readily viewable and printable when made into a very small photo or graphic. The managing members request the final product not be overly complex and not emphasize technology as much as “people communicating.” Entries can be turned into and questions can be answered by Siyeh Corporation's Human Resource Manager, Renee Miller, at 109 North Public Square, 338-2530. First prize is $500, second prize is $250 and third prize is $100. The contest closing on Monday, August 14, at 5 p.m. The winning contestants will be determined by the managing members and each winner must relinquish all copyrights to art submitted for Oki Communications logo.
